HO HO HO

On Monday the 22nd, we were suppose to meet Santa at our playgroup. One of our friends graciously set up the meet & greet for all the kids so that we would have a great photo-op without suffering through the mall, park, etc. Unfortunately, Tiernan woke up that morning with Pink Eye! What a bummer! The kid was so excited & he was completely disappointed not to be able to go. Well, this great friend called Santa (because she has connections) & ta-da, we have our own personal meet & greet with Santa at our house! It was fantastic. Tiernan was thrilled that Santa knew their names & that he got to ask for what he wanted. Sloan & Lincoln kept saying "HO HO HO Momma - look it's HO HO HO!" And of course, all 3 certainly enjoyed the candy canes that Santa left. So a side note here from "Momma" - I was trying to get all 3 to match & look festive but this just goes to show the dynamically different personalities we have here... I start with Tiernan because up until lately, he's the one that has to be talked into certain outfits. Tiernan just had to wear a super hero so that Santa would know that he loved super heroes... (because he doesn't already know whether you've been naughty or nice?!?) He was easy to convince to wear Spiderman because his Spidey shirt is red & that's Santa's favorite color. Going with the red theme, Lincoln was easy to get into red because his Lightening McQueen sweatshirt is red. He ran around prior to Santa's arrival yelling, "I Lightening Momma!" Sloan on the other hand... wanted to be "Pin-cess Pink" & wanted nothing to do with the cute red outfit I had selected. Really, it's the crazy metallic pink headband that started the whole thing. She calls it her pin-cess headband & got it in her head to wear it that day. So scraping the original outfit, I had to find pink to match the headband... pink's in the same family as red so I had to roll with it. Either scrap the whole photo because she's upset with what she's wearing or tell myself that pink's in the same family as red & it really doesn't matter anyway....
